Masterplanning the Cornwall Wildlife Trust Headquarters

Client: Cornwall Wildlife Trust
Date: Initial consultation and masterplan 2005 - 2006, masterplan review and detailing of some aspects currently under way

The Cornwall Wildlife Trust Headquarters at Allet just outside Truro comprise of a nature reserve and a former nursery with a number of buildings and offices. The aim of the masterplanning is to reconnect the areas evolved from different uses, to increase functionality for various departments of the Wildlife Trust, to identify areas for potential future expansion and to explore the potential for new income sources.

After initial staff consultation in 2006, proposals are now being revised and reviewed to conclude the masterplanning. This included a feasibility study for a Green Burial site, design of an allotment area for staff use and education and compilation of a planning application (currently awaiting decision) for a new nature reserve management compound to support the core trust activities. Outline costings and phasing for implementation of various masterplan elements are also being prepared.
